Elec­tions 2025

From 26 May / 09:30 to 2 June 2025 / 12:00, all members of the Paderborn University have the opportunity to take part in the university elections. Members from the status groups of university lecturers, academic staff, technical and administrative staff and students will be elected to the following bodies

  • Senate
  • Faculty Boards of the five faculties

The student elections for the student parliament, student representatives and student councils will take place at the same time as these elections.

As in previous years, the elections will be held digitally. The elections will start with the publication of the election announcements on 8 April 2025.

From 8 April to 25 April , all UPB voters have the opportunity to check their entry in the electoral register by sending a request to the electoral office (by email or telephone). According to the electoral regulations, it is not possible to change the entry in the electoral register after 25 April 2025. Every eligible voter is responsible for checking the electoral roll.

In addition, nominations for the elections to the Senate and Faculty Boards can be submitted to the Electoral Office (B3.246) from 8 April to 25 April / 12 noon.

Election announcement for the 2025 elections to the Senate and the Faculty Councils for the term of office 2025 - 2027 and for the students from 2025 - 2026 dated 8 April 2025:

Election proposals can be submitted to the Electoral Office (B3.246) from 8 April to 25 April 2025. The nomination form to be used:

Election proposal form for Senate / status groups university lecturers, academic staff and staff in technology and administration

Election proposal form for Senate / status group students

Election proposal form for faculty councils / status group university lecturers, academic staff, technical and administrative staff and students

Note: In accordance with Section 11b of the Higher Education Act (HG), attention should be paid to gender parity when drawing up lists and candidacies. In addition, the provisions of the Act on Gender Equality for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (LGG) as amended must be observed (Section 12 (4)).

The exceptional reasons for deviating from the provisions on gender parity must be recorded in the individual case of deviation. If the reasons for the exception have not been recorded, the senate or faculty council must be dissolved immediately and reconstituted, unless the reasons are subsequently recorded without delay.
