As part of the preparation of student work (student research projects, Bachelor's or Master's theses), students often cooperate with companies. These companies regularly have a confidentiality interest with regard to their business and company secrets, so that they often request that the university conclude a confidentiality agreement in advance in connection with the administrative and examination procedure. Paderborn University provides the following sample agreement for these cases: Sample non-disclosure agreement (internal).

The supervising university lecturer and the student sign the agreement for information purposes. The completed sample, which is also signed by the company, is then submitted in at least duplicate to the legal advisors in Department 6.1 for review and to obtain the university's signature. An original copy of the contract is then returned to the company.

Department 2 is responsible for non-disclosure agreements in connection with research projects.
