Federal Minister for Education and Research Bettina 360直播吧-Watzinger has appointed Professor Birgitt Riegraf, President of Paderborn University, to the founding committee for the German Agency for Transfer and Innovation (DATI). DATI’s aim is to put research findings to practical use more quickly and effectively, and unleash new potential for innovation across Germany.
‘This appointment by the federal minister to the prestigious founding committee for the German Agency for Transfer and Innovation is truly a huge honour for me. By founding DATI, the federal government is breaking new ground in promoting transfer and innovation. Being able to help shape the formation process for DATI is not only a massive vote of confidence, but also a major responsibility’, Riegraf notes.
Boosting the transfer of ideas, knowledge and technology
Technological and social innovations are increasingly determining whether economies are competitive and companies are future-proof. Researchers at universities, colleges and other research institutions are developing forward-thinking ideas, generating new knowledge and exploring pioneering technologies on a daily basis. DATI was enshrined in the coalition agreement for the 20th legislative term to ensure that these findings are able to be put to use for the economy and/or society.
