Registration period, orientation and start of lecture period for the winter term 2025/26

For Degree Seeking Students in English conducted study courses: 01 August -  30 September, 2025 (Extended deadline: 23 October, 2025)
The university will also send information for preparing the enrollment and the arrival on campus to the admitted students in the course of June 2025.

Further enrollment deadlines that deviate from this will be communicated individually in the respective admission notice!

It is strongly recommended to participate in the orientation for new students which will take place from 06 October  - 10 October, 2025. Thus enrolled students can shift to the campus at any point of time, but it is strongly recommended to arrive on campus before the 2nd course registration phase ends for ensuring a smooth course of studies. The lecture period starts on 13 October, 2025.

• For the enrollment, send us the documents listed below as a PDF document by e-mail. Alternatively, you can send the documents by conventional mail to the International Office.
• When sending the documents, please use the e-mail address provided with your application. We would also like to point out that incomplete document sets cannot be processed and that you are self responsible for submitting a correctly filled, complete set of documents. If it should happen that you have to submit documents subsequently, we would ask you to send us the complete set of documents again.
• A registration without a visa or residence permit is possible. However, the possibility to enter the country remains a necessity in order to obtain a degree! When in Germany, students need an appropriate residence permit.

Note: Participants who switch from the DSH course at Paderborn University to a degree programm upload the documents in PAUL. The aplication form for matriculation is here not required.

All of the necessary documents for the enrollment are listed in your Notice of Admission. Please read it carefully!

1. Your passport 

2. Proof of payment of the semester fee (For students services and ticket for public transport)
   
   Summer semester 2025:  €279.80
   Winter semester 2025/26: €323.80
   Do not submit any fees before the enrollment period starts. In this case payments may not be allocated correctly!
   
   The semester fees includes already the fee for the semester ticket

3. The university needs to receive an electronic notification by a statutory health insurance company as a confirmation that you comply with the regulations regarding the ogligational health insurance for students. 
   Please note the information on health insurance for international students and the electronic student registration procedure.
    
4. Your filled out matriculation application form (tutorial)
    
5. Only if you have been registered as a degree student at a German university before: Deregistration certificate and "certificate of no objection" (Unbedenklichkeitsbescheinigung) from your previous university in Germany.

6. Proof of participation in the expectation check is mandatory for enrolment in some degree programmes (Bachelor only)

7.  Only for doctorate students: Declaration of the examination council (stamped and signed from the head of the doctorate commettee). A template can be downloaded under the link below.
