Blended Intensive Programmes

Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP)

What are Blended Intensive Programmes?
BIPs combine short physical mobilities (5-30 days) with a virtual phase and promote innovative learning methods. At least three universities from three different Erasmus+ programme countries jointly develop intensive curricula. Students acquire ECTS, build intercultural competences and benefit from a recognised course concept.

Framework conditions:

  • At least 3 universities from 3 different Erasmus+ programme countries (including Paderborn University)
  • Physical mobility (5-30 days) combined with a virtual phase
  • At least 3 ECTS for students
  • A total of at least 15 mobile participating students, preferably 20

Participation and sponsorship as sending organisation:
Sponsorship of students as part of a BIP abroad is only possible if the relevant faculty of Paderborn University organises the BIP together with the foreign partners and the physical phase takes place abroad. The International Office of the UPB sponsors a maximum of 5 days. The funding amount per day is 79 euros. In addition, the outward and return journey days are sponsored at 79 euros each. Additional financial grants for environmentally friendly travelling, persons with special needs (disabilities, chronic illnesses, students with children, first-time graduates) can be applied for. Students are selected by the faculty of Paderborn University. The data of the students are entered into this form and then sent to the UPB project coordinator.

Obligations of the students:

  • Registration in "Mobility Online"
  • Digital Learning Agreement
  • Confirmation of Stay Abroad
  • Participant Report (request for this is sent automatically by email via the "Beneficiary Module" database after return)
  • Transcript of Records (issued by the host university)
