Informal network meetings for starting a doctorate

"Suddenly" a doctoral candidate and - in addition to the research question - many other questions on your mind? How do others organise the start of their doctorate and deal with the initial challenges (e.g. first conference, writing an exposé, changing roles)?"

The informal network meetings serve to connect doctoral candidates in the early doctoral phase with each other in order to discuss current challenges and questions among like-minded people, exchange experiences and develop solutions.

Groups of 4-5 doctoral candidates are formed for this purpose, which meet self-organised over a period of six months, e.g. once a month. There is an initial moderated kick-off at which topics are collected and the procedure and group goals are jointly agreed.

The informal network meetings start every year in October. If you are interested, you can register at any time by sending an email to mentoring@upb.de. Just write to us!
