Case 1: Clearance certificate (for applications/students who have not definitively failed a degree programme/subject area)

If you have not definitively failed a module and would like to be enrolled at another university, you can obtain a clearance certificate for the degree programme you studied at Paderborn University from your clerk at the Central Examinations Office together with a news transcript of records. External students will receive the clearance certificate to present to their previous university when enrolling at Paderborn University. Paderborn University students who wish to enrol internally in another degree programme do not need to submit a certificate when enrolling.

Case 2: Certificate of no objection for enrolment (for applications/students who have definitively failed a degree programme/subject area)

If you have definitively failed at least one module and would like to change your degree programme at Paderborn University or be enrolled at Paderborn University for the first time, you must submit a news certificate of achievement to the responsible examination board of the desired new degree programme (see list below for contact details) stating which modules have been definitively failed. Paderborn University students can obtain the transcript of records from their clerk in the Central Examinations Office, external students from their previous university. If enrolment in the desired degree programme is unobjectionable (e.g. because there is no similarity in content between the previous and desired degree programme), the examination board of the desired degree programme will issue a certificate stating that enrolment can take place.
