Im Zentrum steht die Frage: Wie k?nnen wir technische Systeme so gestalten, dass sie mit dem Menschen auf einer m?glichst natürlichen, semantischen Ebene interagieren und dabei ihre eigenen F?higkeiten durch Adaptivit?t, Selbstorganisation und Lernen an wechselnde Randbedingungen m?glichst flexibel anpassen k?nnen? Für die L?sung dieser Frage führt der Exzellenzcluster die Expertise von Informatikern mit einschl?gigen Forschungslinien in Biologie, Psychologie und Linguistik zusammen, um die Entwicklung technischer kognitiver Systeme durch Erkenntnisse über reale kognitive Systeme zu fundieren, innovative, über klassische KI-Ans?tze hinausreichende L?sungswege durch Verbindung von Expertise aus Ingenieur-, Natur- und Humanwissenschaften zu erschlie?en und disziplinübergreifende, international ausgerichtete Ausbildungs- und Forschungsprogramme für Nachwuchswissenschaftler zu etablieren.

Vier Schlüsselfelder für kognitive Interaktion pr?gen das Forschungsprogramm des Exzellenzclusters: "Intelligente Bewegung", "Systeme mit Aufmerksamkeit", "Situierte Kommunikation" sowie "Ged?chtnis und Lernen". Intelligente Bewegung ist die Basis, um künftige Roboter handlungsf?higer zu machen. Wie k?nnen wir die vielen Freiheitsgrade eines Roboters koordinieren, um dem hoch entwickelten Bewegungsgeschick von Mensch und den meisten Tieren n?herzukommen? Im Bereich "Systeme mit Aufmerksamkeit" werden Mechanismen der Aufmerksamkeitserkennung, -Steuerung und Koordination erforscht, um kognitive technische Systeme zu erm?glichen, die besser auf unsere Wünsche achten und reagieren k?nnen.

Situierte Kommunikation erfordert die Erforschung und technische Nachbildung von Koordinationsmechanismen zwischen Sprache, Sehen und Handeln, um künstliche Systeme zu bef?higen, kooperativ und kontextsensitiv mit Menschen zu interagieren. Im Bereich "Ged?chtnis und Lernen" steht ein tieferes Verst?ndnis von Prozessen der Speicherung, Organisation und des inhaltsbasierten Abrufs von Erfahrung und Wissen im Vordergrund, um Computer und künftige Roboter mit besserem Hintergrundwissen und Lernf?higkeit auszustatten.

Eng verbunden mit der Erforschung dieser Themen sieht der Exzellenzcluster als wichtigen Beitrag, Evaluierungsmethodiken und Benchmarkaufgaben zu erarbeiten, um international kompetitive Standards für herausragende Forschungsergebnisse in Cognitive Interaction Technology zu setzen. Die Vision ist, einr stimulierendn Forschungsinfrastruktur zu schaffen, in der Nachwuchswissenschaftler in strukturierten Promotionsstudieng?ngen und durch eine vorgelagerte, sehr frühzeitige Integration in Forschungsarbeiten zügig an die internationale Spitze der interdisziplin?ren Forschung auf dem Gebiet kognitiver Systeme herangeführt werden.

Ergebnisse

Aus der Vision einer einfachen und intuitiven, auf den Menschen zugeschnittenen Technologie, die Aufgaben versteht und sich einfühlsam auf ihre Nutzer einstellt, begründete CITEC das neue Gebiet der Kognitiven Interaktionstechnologie. Kognition und ihre Nachbildung in technischen Systemen zu verstehen, verbindet das Gebiet mit der KI, aber im Unterschied zu dieser liegt der Fokus auf der Erforschung interaktiver Systeme, in denen Wahrnehmen und Handeln kognitiver Agenten, von Menschen bis zu Robotern, eng und rückbezüglich ineinandergreifen. Dazu verband CITEC die Disziplinen Informatik/Robotik, Biologie, Psychologie, Sportwissenschaft und Linguistik – einschlie?lich Methoden der Mathematik und Physik –, um Prozesse der Bewegungsintelligenz, Aufmerksamkeit, Situierten Kommunikation und von Ged?chtnis und Lernen zu analysieren und in ihrem Zusammenwirken zu verstehen. Ausgehend von Schlüsselaspekten kognitiver Interaktion, zum Beispiel geschicktes Greifen und Manipulieren, bio-inspirierte Robotikkonzepte oder soziale Interaktion, folgte CITEC in zwei F?rderphasen einem stetigen Gradienten in Richtung einer zunehmenden Integration von Teilf?higkeiten. Dies bündelte Forschungsergebnisse in etlichen anspruchsvollen Demonstratorsystemen: etwa dem bimanuellen FAMULA-Roboter, dem expressiven Roboterkopf Flobi, dem Insektenroboter HECTOR, der virtuellen Trainingsumgebung ICSPACE oder Smart-Home-Demonstratoren wie KogniHome. CITECs Forschungsergebnisse führten zu nahezu 5.000 Ver?ffentlichungen seit Einrichtung des Clusters in 2007. Für sein Thema hat CITEC eine stark interdisziplin?re Forschungsumgebung geschaffen. 360直播吧 verband mehr als 40 Gruppen und über 700 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter w?hrend der gesamten F?rderlaufzeit. Ein eigens konzipierter Forschungsbau mit einer ma?geschneiderten Laborinfrastruktur erm?glicht die Zusammenführung von Experimenten und Forschungslinien, um kognitive Interaktion mit komplexen und datenintensiven Hardware-Software-Prototypen detailliert zu analysieren. Eine integrierte Graduiertenschule brachte mehr als 250 Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden auf ihren Karriereweg. Zugleich hat CITEC ein vielf?ltiges Netzwerk aus Partnern aufgebaut. Darunter internationale Forschungsnetzwerke, wie das CITEC-initiierte thematische Netzwerk Interaktive Intelligente Systeme (TN-IIS), eine Virtuelle Fakult?t aus führenden KI-, Robotik- und Gehirnforscherinnen und -forschern sowie strategische Partnerschaften mit bedeutenden Anwendern und Firmen: HONDA (für Robotik), MIELE (für Haushaltsger?te), BERTELSMANN (für intelligente Medien), und BETHEL (für Assistenztechnologien für Senioren oder Menschen mit Behinderung), darüber hinaus Partnerschaften mit kleinen und mittelst?ndischen regionalen Unternehmen sowie zahlreichen Beteiligungen an Forschungsverbünden auf nationaler und internationaler Ebene. Dabei warben CITEC-Wissenschaftlerinnen und -Wissenschaftler insgesamt nahezu 70 Mio. EUR an Drittmitteln zus?tzlich zur Exzellenzf?rderung ein.
